Ecuador is a small country but one that is rich with an amazing diversity of eco-systems. We have beautiful Beaches on the Coast of the Pacific Ocean. There is this rich bio-diveristy of the Amazon River basin. There are uniquely beautiful Galapagos Islands, with thier extraordinary plant and animal ilfe. And then, there is awe-inspiring vistas of the Andes Mountains, where we have chosen for our home and Community.
Ecuador is very assessible to North America. It is just a 3 hour and 45 minute flight. It boaast 12 hours of direct equatorial sunlight a day, 365 days a year. This has made Ecuador the Flower Capital of the world, as there are more species of flowers that grow here than anywhere else on the globe. This mountain nation has one of the most incredible diversities in the world. Because this country sits on the equator – but is both coastal and mountainous, it has the same biodiversity as all the territory ranging from the equator to the Arctic Circle.
The country is a tourist's delight offering sights, sounds, and goods at prices so low they're hard to believe. Indeed, Ecuador was named the "cheapest country in the world" in International Living's 2001 Quality of Life Index. As an emerging economy, the place is ripe with business potential, especially now that it has been through its worst depression in history. Yet the nation has some incredible skilled labor that works for as little as 75 cents an hour. Everyone in Ecuador wants things from America and Europe. Ecuador offers products and services at rock-bottom prices. In short, Ecuador is an incredible bargain basement for business opportunity right now. Our Community is located in southern Ecuador near the famed village of Vilcabamba. It is in an ancient 'sacred' valley, which is known worldwide for having an extraordinary number of people who live to be well over a hundred years old. Vilcabamba was once the summer home for the Inca Royalty. For more info, see: Detailed Property and Weather Description. The land where we are at is basically lush green hills surrounded and intermingled by the towering mountains of the Andes. There is a stream, which comes from springs in the mountain and runs all year long. The water is crystalline clear and safe to drink, and abundant.
The weather is perfect, up to the 80's F. in the day and down to the 60’s F. at night – every day, all year 'round. The amount of daylight is just about 12-13 hours a day, every day.
